Redwork Embroidery: Link Roundup

I loved the redwork embroidery on a pillow in one of my favorite craft books, Handmade Home by Amanda Soule. I wanted to find a similar pattern with a “motherly” theme so I headed over to the site she got hers from, PatternBee. I searched the web as well (and snagged 10 swagbucks while I was at it!) and found some great resources I thought I’d share for anyone else interested.

What Is It & How-to:

Redwork Primer from Pretty Impressive Stuff
Redwork Instructions from Needlework Tips & Techniques

Patterns:

BoPeep Pattern from DIY Fashion @ About.com
Little Red Riding Hood from PatternBee
Nursery Rhyme Quilt Blocks from PatternBee
Free Sunbonnet Patterns from Sunbonnet Sue
Tree of Life Pattern from La Beleine à Plumes
Housewife Designs from Needle Crafter
Wildflower Line Drawings from Umatilla National Forest

  1. My homegroup talked about embroidery last night at our Ladies’ Night Out! I’m very excited about doing a few 10×10 pieces and sewing them together for a fabric book for Zuzu. I think I’m going to try to find some coloring books to use as patterns. I have so many ideas swirling in my head for crafts, I must find the time, space, and discipline to get them done!

    • The coloring books idea is good. I really want to make something with the “Nursery Rhyme Quilt Blocks from PatternBee” listed in the post, but I don’t know what yet.

  2. Thanks on your marvelous posting! I quite enjoyed reading it, you may be a great author.I will make certain to bookmark your blog and will come back from now on. I want to encourage one to continue your great posts, have a nice afternoon!
